Most notably, his storylines for Captain America: Steve Rogers caused a sensation, in which Captain America was replaced by a version of himself with questionable values. The storyline ended in the MARVEL title Secret Empire, also implemented by Spencer. In addition to his work on Spiderman, Avengers and Iron Man, Spencer is known for being one of only three MARVEL writers involved in the relaunch of the “Ultimate MARVEL” series.
