While the comic inside remains permanently protected, the outer protective covers—known as slabs or hardshells—can develop fine surface scratches, hairline scratches, streaks, or other signs of wear over the years. This often detracts from the presentation of an otherwise excellently preserved collectible.

As part of a multi-step restoration process, comic slabs from CGC, CBCS, and comparable grading companies are carefully treated to enhance the appearance of the surface. The comic itself remains completely sealed throughout the entire process—the slab is never opened.

This service is particularly suitable for comic slabs with light to moderate surface scratches, hairline scratches, streaks, dull spots, and normal signs of wear. However, deep scratches, tears, or other structural damage to the protective cover cannot be repaired. In these cases, a ReHolder service is often the better solution.
