Sealed MLB trading card box, original from 1986. Legends like Mike Schmidt, Reggie Jackson or Will Clark played in the MLB and the New York Mets won the World Series against the Boston Red Sox at the end of the season. In Game 6 overtime, the Red Sox were twice within a strike of the championship but still lost the World Series over 7 games. The cult surrounding the legendary Babe Ruth curse “Curse of the Bambino” was on everyone’s lips again. Since selling Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees in 1920, the Red Sox haven’t won a championship for nearly 90 years, although they were considered the most successful team in the majors prior to the sale. The curse did not end before the 2004 World Series win over the Cardinals. This trading card box was marketed for Donruss and is officially licensed by the MLB. For more information see below.
