Unopened pack of MLB Trading Cards, original from 1989. Legends like Cal Ripken Jr., Bob Welch or Roger Clemens played in MLB and the Oakland Athletics won the World Series against the San Francisco Giants at the end of the season. The World Series was also an edition of the heated “Bay Bridge Series”. The neighboring cities of Oakland and San Francisco are only separated by a bridge and the rivalry between the clubs is correspondingly heated. During the World Series, the Bay Area was hit by a strong earthquake, causing delays in the process. These trading cards were marketed by the company Topps and are officially licensed by the MLB.
